Reliable Data Infrastructure is Critical to Building Power and Winning Elections

April 30, 2025

Whether you are struggling with tool optionality, real-time data syncs, or building seamless tool integration, MIG recognizes these challenges and is actively addressing them.

We believe these solutions require long-term investment and work beyond a single election cycle in order to win elections and build power in our communities. Between our latest user research rounds and conference season kicking into high gear - we’re taking a moment to share what we’ve learned from engaging in insightful, thoughtful conversations with many of you.

  1. There is an increased desire for tool optionality
    • Campaign and organization staff have the option to pick from a plethora of tools for running their programs, but there is still a significant barrier to entry when it comes to adoption and ease of data movement between those tools.
  2. Real-time data syncs are a need in our ecosystem - but they are not yet a full reality
    • The vast majority of technical infrastructure does not yet support real-time data syncs, which allow campaigns and organizations to access the most up-to-date data. As a result, programs are left susceptible to acting on outdated and incomplete information.
  3. Lack of standardized integrations slow down the ecosystem
    • The differing data and security requirements between platforms forces campaigns and organizations to frequently build custom integrations. This requires time, effort, and technical lift that are not often well-resourced - or even available.

When we talk about the difference between campaigns winning or losing, data infrastructure is not usually the first point of discussion.

However, when we distill the conversations that are had on the doors, on the phones, audience targeting, and more - it is clear that robust, reliable data infrastructure is needed in order for us to reach program goals and win elections.

MIG exists to remove these barriers to data movement. If you’re interested in learning more about what we’re building to address this work, reach out to us and schedule a time to chat.

Stay tuned for some exciting updates - we’d love to hear from you and discuss ways in which we can work together!
